So for the iPod high resolution settings are the only ones that work for me. It is odd that people using the same settings seem to have different results. Did some research and it was suggested that I reduce frame rate from 24 FPS to 23.976- now surely such a small change wouldn't matter. The funny thing is that once I changed the rate, it worked without a problem. Did also find that the DVP seems partial to Handbrake. Had purchased another package for my encoding, crapped out each time. Handbrake, works like a charm. Hope that helps you.
