I tried that as well, and it didn't work for me. So for the iPod high resolution settings are the only ones that work for me. It is odd that people using the same settings seem to have different results.

Hey Brian, don't know if you're still having the "rebuffer" issue, but i was having the same thing. Did some research and it was suggested that I reduce frame rate from 24 FPS to 23.976- now surely such a small change wouldn't matter. The funny thing is that once I changed the rate, it worked without a problem. Did also find that the DVP seems partial to Handbrake. Had purchased another package for my encoding, crapped out each time. Handbrake, works like a charm. Hope that helps you.

Great work Brian, thanks for this post. I've been wondering if it might be possible to set up a home server for my new Roku and am so happy to find your project. Can't wait to start playing with the setup.

No, the Roku software needs a http server that understands the Byte-Range header in order to work, so simply using file sharing won't work.

Glad I found this! I've been wondering if something like this existed yet. Is it possible to stream from a home computer that is not set up as a server. Ideally, I'd just stream it from my Mac using "File Sharing", but I'm not sure if this possible.

I haven't been able to figure out how to do it, and I admit that I somewhat of a novice at it. :-) Thanks so much!
